Hello, Healthcare Changemaker

The Wellness Collective is designed specifically for you. Every year we gather like-minded healthcare professionals from around the city to be reminded of why they said yes to this holy calling. This year our programming will be focused around Romans 12, zeroing in on reminders of what it means to be the good in the midst of evil and dark places. The work you do is crucial to building the Kingdom of Heaven, here on earth. Practitioners, nurses, clinical staff, and administrative staff will all find applicable learning and encouragement throughout the conference. Come be encouraged in your work and equipped in your faith. We can guarantee laughter, some surprise and delight, new friends, and that you'll leave refreshed!

Breakouts

The Power of Proximity: The Gift of Serving the Poor in Spirit

What does it look like to be the good when systems fail the most vulnerable in our city? This breakout will ground us in a biblical understanding of Jesus' presence among those on the margins of society and what it means to do justice as His followers. Using Micah 6:8 as our framework, we'll highlight the importance of proximity to those on the margins and through a panel discussion offer practical wisdom for caring well across diverse contexts. Through Scripture, lived experience, and panel conversation, participants will be encouraged whether they serve the marginalized daily through their work or are seeking creative ways to live out these principles.

Healthcare workers regularly encounter trauma, suffering, and moral stress that can quietly accumulate over time. This session will help participants understand how trauma affects the body, mind, and spiritual life, and why resilience is essential for long-term faithfulness in caregiving roles. Through a trauma-informed and biblical lens, we’ll explore practical ways to process difficult experiences, care for ourselves with intention, and remain rooted in goodness without becoming overwhelmed by the darkness around us.

Many enter the healthcare profession excited about finding ways to live out their faith as they care for patient's physical needs. But what does that practically look like? This breakout session will cover practical examples of how to initiate spiritual conversations in a natural way, practical examples of leading and serving coworkers with purposefulness, and tools to clearly articulate the gospel when opportunities arise. Participants will learn how to foster a culture of compassion, service, and faith, turning every interaction into an opportunity to impact both your team and patients with Christ’s love.

Healthcare is a holy calling. Practitioners and administrators have chosen a field that by its nature provides service, care, and healing; all key components of Jesus' ministry while here on earth. By taking a look at the scriptures focusing on Jesus' time on earth, this session will focus on His healings and acts of service then draw observations and applications specifically relevant to healthcare professionals. Participants in this healing and service based profession will be encouraged and refreshed by Jesus as the example.
